eBook sources
Which format do i select when buying a book as all of them need to be converted anyway?
If you're buying encrypted books, the only ones that can be converted are MS Reader (LIT) format. Learning to handle them can be a bit tricky - you need a registered copy of MS Reader on your computer to be able to download your purchases, then ConvertLit to disassemble them, then probably something like SoftSnow's FileMerger to reassemble the multiple HTML files.
If you're looking at unencrypted books, REBLib will handle HTML, RTF, TXT and possibly some other open formats. Avoid Adobe Acrobat Reader, MobiPocket and eReader files, which don't convert well if at all.

knowbetter.com
We may not have the word "ebook" in our domain name, but since
1999, we've been providing the ebook community with an independent source
of helpful resources as well as providing education to those who want
to know more about what ebooks are and how they can benefit from them.
To that end, we offer ebook reviews, industry news, a huge directory
of ebook listings, a great library (lending ebooks, of course) and much
more.
Fictionwise $
Fictionwise.com is committed to providing the Internet's most comprehensive collection of fiction (and yes nonfiction too!) in the most popular eBook formats. Probably the largest collection of ebooks on the net. Free eBooks section Fictionwise sells unencrypted, multiformat books in the REB1200's IMP format - look for the "OEBFF Full VGA (IMP)" choice on the "Choose Download Format" list. (The "OEBFF Half VGA (IMP)" format will work too, but it's black-and-white, not coloured.)

Online textbooks
You're in luck if your $100+ textbook is available online. And if it's available online, the chances are that you have a pretty good chance of finding it in here.
Others:
And of course, there are numerous specific content sites such as news, articles, journals, etc. (which you probably are more familiar than I am) that you can download or save from the browser by just doing FILE | SAVE AS, then convert it into REB1200 format.
