I can not get SamplerBox to run on a Raspberry Pi 3B+ similar to Parker and Pablo previously commenting

I can get it to run on a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B with 4GB RAM.

I am here to echo the previous comment from Pablo. My raspberry pi too just boots to a white screen, nothing in the pirate audio display and no audio. I followed all of the instructions on your page, mounted the OS with the raspberry pi imager, copied the 3 relevant files and I am using an official power supply. Any ideas as to what the issue could be?

Hello, i have been trying to make this samplerbox work, i have a raspberry pi3 model b+, and a pirate audio lineout. I downloaded the samplerbox .img, and booted it into a microusb, plugged it into the raspberry, but the pirate auido does not show what it has to show, it just turn on but with nothing displayed. I have plugged my midi keyboard with the speakers plugged in into the pirate audio and no sound.
Do I need to install some other libraries to make it work?
Like some pirate audio libraries or some python. Thanks a lot, this is my first project in raspberry and i dont know much about this. Thank you.

Hi Glenn,
Indeed the homspace site isn't reliable for some time. I intend to change provider (the root cause), but that will take some time. I'm glad your site provides a bypass.

Hello Glenn,

Thank you so much for your work. I have a question : Is it possible to trigger 2 .wav's with 1 key of the midi keyboard?

I tried to name one .wav with midinote and the other .wav with notename but it doesn't work....

Admin reply: Yes, you use layers. There is a setting in the definition file: %layers
You need to define the voices in the file layers.csv
Voice 6 in the 0 Demo preset has layers

is homespace.nl down? I've been trying it for the last two days and it's not opening.
:!cry:

Admin reply: Yes, Hans' website seems to be down. I used the Wayback Machine to fetch an archived copy of it and I put that info here under the Documentation menu item

I am super excited about having built a samplerbox with the audio pirate DAC. I'm using it with an Arturia KeyStep 37 midi controller. I was hoping to be able to change the presets from my controller but have not had luck. I configured one of the CC * * * on the KeyStep 37 for CC 12 but the Samplerbox doesn't seem to respond. Anyone out there have any clues/advice?

Admin reply: Samplerbox responds to the Program Change MIDI message to change the preset instrument.
That's a different message than a CC (Control Change) message. You are sending a CC12 message which controls effects - not what you want.

There is a way to assign two CC messages to tell samplerbox to go to the next or previous preset when the assigned CC message is received.

You have to create a name for the two controllers in the file controllerCCs.csv, something like ButtonUp and ButtonDown and what CC number they send.

Then in the file CCmap.csv you tell it what to do when those CC messages from the controllers you named are received.

Put the controller name in the Controller column (column B)
Put the ProgramUp and ProgramDown terms in the Sets column (column D).

Hello Glenn,
Thank you for your guide here... I followed everything to the letter (AFAIK)...
and it worked! Have SamplerBox running on RPi4B/8GB with Blokas Pisound card. Have already used the WebGUI to practice changing presets. Will explore more soon.

One question... is there a safe way to power down/ off the Raspberry Pi... if running "headless" w/o a monitor? Have always heard that just unplugging the USB-C power cable wasn't good for file system integrity.

I know how to shutdown (shutdown -P now) when I have a keyboard and monitor connected.

Admin reply: It is safe to just power down the Pi, as all the filesystems are set to read-only by samplerbox.
