The note in the manual that states “ Channels 5 and 6 can only be used with channels 1,2,3 and 4 ” is erroneous. Channel 5 (Dimming) works with channels 1 thru 4 only if channel 7's value is below 128. Channel 6 (Strobe/Speed) works both with channels 1 thru 4 and channel 7 depending on the mode selected by channel 7.

Normal Mode

1. At values below 128, the Mode channel (7) does not “Blackout”; rather it puts the fixture in “Normal Mode” (RGB control).
   
2. For normal DMX control of the three RGB color intensities on channels 1,2 & 3, the Color Mixing channel (4) must be below 8, the Mode channel (7) must be below 128 and the Strobe/Speed channel (6) should be below 16 value.
   
3. The Dimming channel (5) controls the overall intensity of the fixture (only in Normal Mode).
   
4. At values above 15, the Strobe/Speed channel (6) will cause the intensity to alternate between zero and the level set by Dimming channel. The speed of strobing increases as the DMX value of this channel is increased. At value 16 the strobe speed is about 2 flashes per second. The speed increases as the level increases up to 255.
   
5. The color mixing channel (4), at levels above 7, overrides the RGB channels (1,2,3) so that these 3 channels have no effect. The Dimming channel (5) still controls overall intensity.
   
6. The color mixing channel (4) selects a fixed color according to the following chart:

Automatic Modes

If the Mode channel (7) level is above 128, then the first 5 channels have no effect. Also the speed channel (6) will control the speed of the color chases, strobing and flutter effects selected by the Mode channel.
